SEF plugin: change of URL structure and impact on indexing (robots.txt)

Hi everyone,

finally got my hands on the jReviews SEF plugin. What more can I say than: I love it! Awesome job, Kristian and Alejandro! I cannot wait to finally get rid of IDs and ugly Joomla category pages  ;D

However, I did some testing, in order to compare old url structure vs. new ones. Currently my robots.txt contains the following strings (besides other ones of course), in order to prevent indexing of rather dynamic urls, single reviews, etc...

Disallow: /discussions/review/id

Disallow: /menu/order

Disallow: /*:

I am wondering, if I got to extend these settings, in order to cover the URLs now created by SEF pluging. Some examples:

#1 single review/discussion

old:

http://www.example.com/directory/category/subcategory/discussions/review/id:461/

new:

http://www.example.com/subcategory/discussions/review?id=464

#2 user-photos

old:

http://www.example.com/medien/photos/by:users/m:LYrrM/

new:

http://www.example.com/medien/photos?m=LYrrM&by=users

#3 pic-upload after listing submission

old:

http://www.example.com/medien/upload/id:MzIzOjQ2MTpjb21fY29udGVudA%3D%3D/

new:

http://www.example.com/medien/upload?id=MzIzOjQ2NDpjb21fY29udGVudA==

#4 edit media

old:

http://www.example.com/medien/media/listing/id:348:dfasf/

new:

http://www.example.com/medien/media/listing?id=349:adfs

#5 my-media

old:

http://www.example.com/component/jreviews/my-media/user:43/?Itemid=

new:

http://www.example.com/jreviews/my-media?user=43

#6 my-listings

old:

http://www.example.com/component/jreviews/my-listings/user:43/?Itemid=

new:

http://www.example.com/jreviews/my-listings?user=43

does this mean I have to use

Disallow: /discussions/review?id

Disallow: /photos?m

Disallow: /upload?id

Disallow: /listing?id

Disallow: /my-media?

in order to prevent indexing?

Yet I do not dare to use

Disallow: /*?

because I fear it might kill other links

Last question: If I experience any trouble with the SEF plugin: Is it safe to simply switch it off (and maybe later on again) or do I have to expect negative side effects?

Thanks for your help and once again for this great plugin!

BR,

Michael
