jReviews, Core SEF and Split Menues

Hi,

I am using the Joomla Split Menue technique for a jReviews city guide website where on the homepage only the first level of the menue tree is displayed (to choose the city), and on the following (city) pages only the levels 1-5 are being displayed (hotels, restaurants, nightlife, ...).

Split menue works fine without SEF.

To use joomla core SEF, I followed the advice in the documentation to create hidden menue items for the section / category views of jReviews.

This creates problems with the split menue, which is no longer displayed on the cities' listing details pages. I guess it is because the Itemids no longer match because joomla is using the itemids of the hidden menue.

Maybe since the menue module can no longer figure out which parent is active, no submenue gets rendered.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks,

Sebastian
