jmdundon Posted April 27, 2010 at 04:23 PM Share Posted April 27, 2010 at 04:23 PM Proper use of SEF urls involves always storing the dynamic (non-sef) url in your articles, so if you change your SEF url rules you don't have to go through your articles and change internal links. However, in edit mode, sh404 is still rewriting URLs, making it confusing for site admins. If I edit a listing, create internal links to dynamic urls, and save, the dynamic URL is stored in the database. I know this because if I edit the article in the backend I see that my urls still look like "index.php?option=com_content&view..." However, if I edit the listing in the frontend through jReviews, I see SEF urls! I see them if I click a link and then click the link icon to pop up the link dialogue box, and if I click the HTML icon to switch to html view. This is very confusing because most people assume that when you click the html icon you are seeing exactly what is stored in the database (save for newlines, tabs, hidden characters, etc.). Any ideas on keeping sh404 from rewriting URLs in edit mode? Link to comment
