Pre-defined layouts, Layout Switcher - Possible that changes will save in frontend?

Hey,

we will use the Layout Switcher in Frontend that users can change their view. this works fine in one category but when the user navigate to next category the changes will reset so the user has to change it again. is it possible that the user change will save for the session or maybe when he is registered save it for the profile?
