Display week letters - pt_BR

I'm setting up an events page, I used the calendar module and activated the option to show the letters of the day of the week, the letters are transformed into numbers, as can be seen in the attached image. The problem only occurs if the site is in the Portuguese language of Brazil, I switched to English and it worked perfectly.

Another thing, would it be possible, instead of a single letter, to use 3 initial letters of the day of the week, as in any calendar?
