Structured data for Steps in "HowTo" Schema.org Object Type

I use HowTo Schema.org Object Type for a listing type.

To optimize it for google I need the right structured data for "steps" => text points explaining something

Only use
 

<span itemprop="step">{fieldtext}</span>

didn´t runs

Do you have any idea?
