Image uploads fail because of additional characters in file names

Hi, 

I am having problems with some user trying to upload their logo and cover images. I believe it is because the file names have characters such as - _ . as well as alpha numeric. Is there any way I can work with these file names i.e. get Jreviews to accept these file names when uploaded? I cannot find a setting for it. Is there any other way around it?
