Michael Posted December 9, 2012 at 06:48 PM Share Posted December 9, 2012 at 06:48 PM Hi, I got to restruture some of my listings and categories and I stumpled across a suprising feature (at least for me). My site structure: directory/categoryA/subcategoryA1 /categoryA/subcategoryA2 etc... thanks to the jReviews Menue (hidden) an article within subcategoryA1 has the following URL: subcategoryA1-ID-article-alias Now I got to move this article (i.e. listing) from subcategoryA1 to subcategoryA2 therefore the new URL is subcategoryA2-ID-article-alias Now comes the fun part: Although I moved the listing from A1 to A2, I could still type in the former URL as deeplink for the listing (article). This also works, if I do not even move the article, even after clearing browser- jReviews- and Joomla-cache. To give you an example from the demo: http://demo.reviewsforjoomla.com/coffee-shops/194-polcaris-coffee is as well available under http://demo.reviewsforjoomla.com/nightclubs/194-polcaris-coffee Ok, maybe I am just outing myself as noob right now, not knowing enough about menue-structures in joomla. However - can you confirm that this is a correct behaviour and is meant to work this way? I am just asking, because if so that's a great feature, i.e. I can move articles without loosing the former URL. I already feared that this could cause search engine issues or I got to setup 301-redirects, in order to prevent 404-errors. Thanks! Link to comment
