Overridden themes and paid listings

We have a license to paid listings, but removed it after some testing because we simply weren't ready to use it yet. Now we are. But here's my question -

We've created our own theme for JReviews, and it's quite customized. Indeed, a while back, when the form protection change went in, it took us three days to ensure we picked up all of those changes in our theme files properly, with coding and testing.

When we install Paid listings, our theme will, naturally, have no code it in for the paid listings.

What kind of nightmare are we in for? Is there any documentation at all about how we can integrate paid listings into our custom theme? What changes are made in the default theme, for example, how the flow changes, and things like that, that we're almost surely going to have to migrate over ourselves?

I'm anticipating my front-end developer's head exploding. Some guidance, even just in scope, would be helpful.
