Problem with Geo Targeting

I am using the GeoMaps module for my categories page. I also need to use it for my home page to display listings that are within a specific radius of the users current location. So given that I need different settings for the home page module I copied the existing GeoMaps module ( from within Module Manager) and assigned this copied module to a position on my home page. I then set the radius as a test to 10 miles. I then went ahead and added listings with locations that were 5, 10 and 30 miles apart.

When I display the home page with this map it shows listings that are 40 miles from my location. Changing the radius setting on the module has no effect. I'm wondering if it is failing to capture my current location.

I looked in the source on my home page and see 5 sets of IP addresses. I get 3 markers on the map.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong here? Should my present location IP address be viewable in the source?

Other sites geo locate me from where I'm at now just fine.
