Digg style ratings modification

I'm currently developing the site: http://www.goodbonusguide.com and want to move away from the usual ratings and comments system into a system similar to the one seen on digg.

 

Instead of ratings, the users could give a listing a thumbs up or thumbs down resulting in a score for the listing (thumbs up - thumbs down). I would like anybody to be able to vote without registering or entering any details, as many of our site visitors are transient and would not want to register. The value needs to be compatible with jreviews modules so that it can be called from within a .thtml file - it will not just be used in the detail page, but also in modules. I also need to be able to sort by this value.

 

It's something that I think I know how to do, but just don't have the time to figure it out. Anybody up for the challenge?
