ability to remove article from a list without unpublishing

Right now I'm using a jReviews blog view as my front page because I like how it automatically creates thumbs for the articles - it makes my sites look very nice and easy to use for my clients.  The only problem with this is that I cannot remove any articles from that list.  If I remove it from the front page, it does not remove it from that list because the list is not actually the front page component. 

 

I guess I'd like a way to keep an article off of a blog view without unpublishing it.
