Section And Category Layouts similar to Article Menu Link

I feel like some of the big limitations i personally face currently with jreviews revolves around the default page to display section and category listings..

 

It would be great to be able to create a menu link to a section or category just like the core joomla article component does. (referring to the blog layout menu link)

 

The main perk of this setup would be similar to the core articles perks.  If it was like the article manager, then i could have control over module placement for specific section or categories of listings.

 

Currently, their is no control at all. the only way to get a module to appear on a listings display page or single listing, is to have that module displayed on every single page of the website.

 

I assume a better default section/category setup may also make the component integrate better with other core joomla functionality such as "show section/category description" or "breadcrumbs" etc.

 

It would also be good to be able to have unique meta data for list pages instead of reusing global meta over and over...however, core joomla hasn't even done this yet... ???
