Need help customizing a listing theme page

I have created a custom theme page that displays when you search my date. Everything is working fine with it, except the actual way the results are displayed. I want the results to be displayed alphabetically, and seperated by category so that they would look like this:

 

CATEGORY 1

result 1

result 2

result 3

 

CATEGORY 2

result 1

result 2

result 3

 

etc.
