How can I enter a date field? Can I modify the look of other non-custom fields?

Hello everyone,

 

I have a couple of questions. I just finished creating custom fields with jreviews and I am wondering, is there a way to create a date field? A pop-up calendar would be cool, but even a little more simply; I need a way to ask a person to enter a date. When I chose "textbox" the filed is too long for a date. Do I use a series of dropdown boxes to create a mechanism for date inputting? Also, is there a way I can turn off some of the standard fields that are displayed on the form? For example, I am using my own custom text areas and no longer need the default Item summary and Item Description text areas. Is there a way to get rid of these from the input side, and from the output (display) side too? Thank you so much.
