Two Questions Regarding Database

I have two databases on my system. One is new and I can't remember how to prevent it from posting new listings to the Latest Posts in WordPress. It doesn't do it on my original database. Any idea where to look that I'm missing?

My second question is is there a way to exclude a database from being searched by the user? By that I mean can a user choose not to include a specific database in their search?
