Spinner for Advanced Filter Request

When I use the Advanced Search Filter and filter on anything there is a slight delay. I know that the delay is just waiting for the results to return. However, my senior site audience does not. Is there a way to add a spinner when the query is sent that stops when the results are in? Or maybe something similar to the message for the map markers when it says "Adding markers to the map". Maybe on the Advanced Search Filter Module we could use something like "Getting Results". What would be the best way to do this? I'm not sure where to start, would it be a filter or within the module file itself?
