Address field in Advanced Search module is not returning results for Canadian province

If I search for "Ontario, Canada" in the address field (choosing what Google suggests) and choose within 50 miles it is not finding any of the RV park listings. If I type "California, United States" (as Google auto-complete fills in)...then I do find results for California. Ontario is a province of Canada, just like California is a state. Both states and provinces are in the same field in my custom fields. And we use the abbreviations.
