Alexandre Emeriau Posted December 18, 2014 at 12:05 AM Share Posted December 18, 2014 at 12:05 AM If users aren't aware that a listing already exists, they may add the same listing, resulting in multiple listings for the same place. Obviously this is a problem and it would be ideal to have all comments, reviews, and information on one listing. Several methods to achieve that : - one of them is by controlling the web domain provided in the listing url cibling the web site. - one other is about checking different physical addresses. One solution is to warn poster that a business with simular name and adress exist, and show it to the poster so he himself can determine if he still want to post it, or rather claim the other listing. eg one could use an algoritm that checks name, address (google map address as it is always written the same) and phone number. If any of these 3 match, warn poster. Link to comment
