Nick Mitchell Posted March 30, 2014 at 07:04 PM Share Posted March 30, 2014 at 07:04 PM I am creating a site that has listings nationwide (USA). I want the location interactivity to work like Yelp. Whether you are logged in or not, once you enter a location for a proximity search, it stays that way for as long as the user is on the site unless they change their location. Currently, if you click on the "trucks" virtual category, it will bring up ALL trucks everywhere, even if you just performed a proximity search. This is a very unintuitive way for it to work and confuses users. IDEALLY: If as a user (registered or guest), I search for "cars" within 10 miles of "San Jose, CA" and then I go to a listing and click on a Click2search field within the listing (i.e. "trucks"), then the "trucks" listings will display within 10 miles of San Jose, CA again. Is there a setting I can change to make the site behave in this way? Is there a simple fix in a file I could do? Is it a more complicated solution that would require extensive internal coding? Thanks! Link to comment
