Remove map on mobile theme

My users complain they don't know how to "get past the map" when scrolling.  I found it to be easy to grab the side of the frame to scroll, but they don't.  So we've decided to remove the map completely from mobile devices and instead rely on a button that loads the native map application on the device using the listing location.  Which turned out to be a nice feature because of using the phone's GPS capabilities.

 

I'm trying to remove the map on the mobile theme.  I've removed the section from listing_detail in overrides.  However the map continues to load on my phone.  Is there a proper way to accomplish this?
