Rik Brown Posted March 13, 2013 at 12:10 AM Share Posted March 13, 2013 at 12:10 AM The larger a site gets the more time it takes to do proximity searches within major cities. To speed up proximity searches on larger sites, I'd like to see an option to: 1) Run a process that works in the background to pre-store the needed coordinates info in the database. 2) Possibly, that could be defined for listings within a specific city such as large metropolises. 2) A setting to limit the number of returned listings so that cities like New York City don't return 700 or more nearby listings during a proximity search (and I'm talking about small areas in NYC).
