Mapping an unrelated listing & no markers displayed

I am interested in displaying maps for locations but have the listings on the page be listings that are related to the listings that I am trying to map.  That is probably confusing, let me explain better with an example.

 

I have casinos, each of those casinos has many promotions.  I want to display the promotions on the page  using a category blog and have a map at the top of the page with all of the casinos in that region.

map is a module with a custom where statement "jr_state = 'California'

 

At this rate- I will need 50 modules, it would be nice to make this dynamic but I realize this may not be possible.

custom where "jr_enddate > now()"

 

I cleared the cache but as you can see the page is working as expected but the map is not displaying any markers despite the fact that it should be displaying 136 markers.

 

Am I going about the setup the correct way?  The downside with the setup I have selected is that I am going to need to create 50 maps modules.

 

Any thoughts?

 

 

EDIT- It seems that even on related listings the map is not reflecting the contents of the current page.  I must be doing something wrong although I have read and re-read pg 16 of the geomaps documentation and I cant figure out why it isnt working.
