A way to make a "Custom Directory"

I have a directory called City Guide,

I would love to create a directory which would allow me to choose certain categories from other directories.

For Example, I want to create a menu link called Things to Do,

That would be a custom directory with categories such as

• Historical Attractions
  
• Cinemas
  
• Museums

 

But these items would still be in the main directory - does that make any sort of sense!

 

These categories are currently in different main categories under the City Guide directory - There is no way i can pick and choose which categories to show.
