Thomas Venugopal Posted May 15, 2010 at 01:06 AM Share Posted May 15, 2010 at 01:06 AM We ran 2 tests with the our new site in development. We did everything to make it easy for the user to submit listings and to take action on our site. It really works better than exspected. After analyzing the feedback we saw that the most critical point is the submission of listing data. Users are really used to have a better (sorry for the word) usability experience. For instance the multiselect field. I don't mean the kind of handling the tags. I mean that it is not possible for me to edit the files to make the user experience better. I can't display "Please hold CTRL and select the fields." It is not possible. Another example would be the geocoding. I chatted with a tester 10 minutes ago. He asked me why he hast to fill out the zipcode when the marker is already at the right location. Isn't it is possible to find out the zipcode of the geocoded location? And if yes: please add it in future releases. I would be satisfied with something like in Jomsocial when editing your profile. Just put the infobullets into these tooltips from jomsocial and everything is better with a simple improvement. The point for us is: we can't control the submission view to edit it to our own needs and that's the reason why we wish it ;). Everything in jReviews is so flexible except of that submission part. We are used to have that great flexibility in jReviews - that is the reason why we're not satisfied with the current solution. I'd highly appreciate an update which takes the whole concept of jReviews into consideration for the listing submissions formular. This is no facebook trendwhore wish it's about the core :) PS: I think I don't have to mention that jReviews is a great product - it's just about improvements. And I know that it is not always possible to fullfill the users needs. But this is a very core functionality which sould be better than everything else in jReviews. getimo Link to comment
