How does Coupon work?

Hello, I was wondering how Coupon would work...  Does the coupon just reduce the first month’s payment, or does it reduce it for future months too? Can I create a coupon that applies for only a fixed number of months? How does this affect paypal, if it applies for the first month does Paypal get billed for the full amount later? I would really appreciate if you could answer these questions.

 

Also, if I want to do a free listing forever (for example, my own listing), how would I set up that coupon?
